Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Knocking sends a distinct message. If the knocking is soft and repetitious, it’s likely a neighbor or someone being polite. If it’s done with with some rhythm, then most likely a friend. And when it’s loud and close to banging, it’s probably a cop or some other urgent matter, like the condo is on fire.

In my case, the banging came with a thick stack of papers, a court summons, and a woman.

“Paul Campillo?”

“You’re being served an unlawful detainer.”

“Thank you.”

Finally. I’ve been waiting for this.

Not that I’ve been looking forward to it, but I’m happy to have a date. And that date is Friday, February 1st, 2013.

By 5:00 pm that day I will have to either a.) let the attorneys know that I am meeting them in court or b.) prepare to move out in a week or less time.

So time to gear up and face my first big challenge of 2013. To be homeless or not to be. That is the question.

I’ve been testing the book concepts talking to random people, but I’m taking it one step further.

I’m putting together a slideshow presentation for mass consumption. I’m thinking I will do something similar to Ignite Seattle. 5 minutes, 20 seconds per slide. Originally I was thinking TED Talk, but this format gets ideas to market faster.

I’ll be working on it this weekend in between law studies.

I may also change the title of the book, since it’s taking a slightly different direction. The elves are at work.

Wish me luck.

Paul “I hate loud bangs” Campillo
